ERIE - COMPLEX RULES & REGULATIONS

ERIE CITY COMPLEX RULES & REGULATIONS

Coaches - keep in mind of a couple of our key rules and regulations:
  • All pre-game warm-ups must take place in the designated warm-up areas and/or behind the temporary fencing.  Hitting or throwing into the fences is prohibited. No infield or batting practice will be permitted on the infield before a game.
    • Warm-ups will not be allowed on Civic Green or Mitchell Field.
    • Grilling is not allowed anywhere in the Erie Community Park (including the parking lots, out of an RV, etc.)
      • except for the use of the two permanent charcoal grills at the Garfield Shelter.
    • Gates will open approximately one hour prior to the first game.
    • Concessions will be open.
    • No alcohol will be permitted outside of the Ballpark (including the parking lots and shelter areas.)

    Music At the Fields

    Walk Up Songs are Permitted, provided that the music meets the requirements below. Cannot be used during an Offensive or Defensive Play. This is considered a NOISE MAKER and is not permitted

    Music must be acceptable, No Offensive Language or Subjects.

    Any violation will result in loss of music for the duration of the event.

    Keep volume at a reasonable setting.

    If other fields can hear your music, it is too loud.

    If YOU cannot carry on a Normal Conversation, music is too loud.

    If you must be told to turn down or stop playing your music multiple times and you do not comply, you will lose your privilege to play music the rest of the event.

    Tournament Rules

    ZERO TOLERANCE TOWARDS UMPIRES, COACHES, PLAYERS, TOURNAMENT STAFF, CITY STAFF FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN EJECTION FROM THE TOURNAMENT CO/WY USSSA FASTPITCH BAT CHECK BEFORE ALL GAMES Check for cracks, dents, etc. All bats must have the USSSA "thumbprint" (USSSA 2014 and 2020 certification marks) Run rules: 10/8/6 after 3/4/5 innings Courtesy Runner (CR) for Pitcher/Catcher is the Last Completed At Bat (LCAB) Not necessarily the last out. The CR rule still applies (Rule 8 Sec 3) Sunday/Bracket Play

    LINE-UP CARDS MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE UMPIRE AND OPPOSING TEAM

    Lineup card shall include - First and Last Name, Jersey No and Position in the batting order of each starting player

    No Duplicate Numbers

    Each eligible substitute must be listed on the card

    SATURDAY RULES Time Limits - Pool Play: 75 minutes, finish the inning. No new inning after 70 minutes (teams can end in a tie) Seating/Deciding Home/Away - Pool Play - Coin toss by the Umpire will determine the home team

    ? BAT YOUR LINE-UP on Saturday/Pool Play This is not mandatory for the teams

    If a team decides not to use the bat your line-up option, they must follow the "Colorado/Wyoming book rule" along with the substitute/courtesy runner rules.

    For the bat your line-up:

    If a team only has 9 players, they are batting their line-up

    BY THE BOOK SUNDAY

    Bracket Play - Higher Seed will be the Home Team per results posted in the Scoring System

    Team line-up can consist of 9, 10, or 11 batters (using two APs) or 12 players (using APs and DP/Flex) (FLEX DOES NOT BAT) (CAN PLAY WITH 8 - LAST PLAYER ON LINEUP CARD IS THE OUT) CAN USE 2-AP'S AND OR DP/FLEX Bracket Play: 75 minutes, finish the inning. Championship games will be 90 minutes or seven innings. ITB rule (SECOND BASE ONLY) will be used after time expired, or 7 innings has been completed for all bracket games STATE RULES ARE POSTED ON THE TOURNAMENT PAGE IF THERE ARE ANY RULES THAT ARE NOT CLARIFIED ON THAT SHEET, THEN WE REFER BACK TO THE RULE BOOK
