Boulder East Mapleton & Niwot Parking
BOULDER: EAST MAPLETON PARKING ISSUES: You can park along Mapleton Street and in the East Lot on the East side of Field 3. DO NOT PARK IN THE WHOLE FOODS parking lot OR the surrounding businesses. You could get booted. Parking is limited, but we are only using 2 fields. There is parking in the neighborhood to the west of the fields. Suggestion: Drop off equipment and players at the field, then park.
MONARCH FIELDS INFORMATION
Please reach out to your coach for a map of parking.
Hello softball families. We look forward to seeing everyone at the fields this weekend. Please take a minute
to read the below information. It should help make your day as enjoyable as possible.
Parking - The center of the main parking lot is reserved for NYS employees/volunteers, event officials,
umpires and handicapped people (must have placard). There is general/public parking on both sides of
Little League Lane (the dirt road into the complex) and on the east side of the complex. We also utilize the
parking lot on the west side of the road (the entrance is on East Dry Creek Road just west of the Little
League Lane – note that there is ongoing construction on the building) and the parking lot on the east side
of the road (it can be accessed directly from our parking lot or via East Dry Creek just east of Little League
Lane). See the attached map if you are not sure how to access these parking lots. Regardless of where you
park, please do not block traffic lanes in or out of any areas and please do not move any barriers to park in
restricted spots. Also note that due to dry conditions and ongoing work at the fields, the back and side
entrances to the fields will be closed. Please enter through the front of the complex. Thanks for your
cooperation.
Pool Seeding vs. Division Seeding
Pool Seeding vs. Division Seeding
To promote fairness, USSSA CO/WY is implementing Division Seeding for divisions where pools and brackets are unbalanced.
When Pools and Brackets divide evenly -> then the Pool standings will feed into the Bracket seedings.
Say we have 16 teams across 4 Pools and we have two Brackets of 8 teams each.
The 1st and 2nd place teams from each Pool (8 teams) will feed into the upper bracket and the 3rd and 4th place teams from each Pool (8 teams) will feed into the lower bracket.
When Pools and Brackets do not cleanly map, say with a division of 28 teams feeding into 4 brackets of different sizes, we have found it is not fair to randomly seed Pools unevenly into Brackets, where some pools randomly receive byes over other pools.
So, to increase fairness when the Pools and Brackets are uneven, we will not seed by Pool, but instead will seed by the entire Division.
For example, for a 28 team division, we will seed teams 1 to 28 into the Brackets and we will use the USSSA Tie Breakers to determine placement:
Division Standings Sorted on the following:
1) Winning Percentage - Descending (a tie is worth half a win)
2) Head to Head if ALL the tied teams have played each other
3) Avg Runs Allowed - Ascending
4) Avg Run Differential with a maximum of (8) - Descending
5) USSSA Points - Descending
6) Date Team Entered USSSA Database
With Division seeding, it is possible for a Pool to send multiple Teams to a bracket based on the tie breakers when teams are compared across the entire Division.

Determining Your Seed
The "Results" Tab in the "Game Center" does NOT order teams by the USSSA tie breakers, as such, it will be turned off until after the tournament concludes.
After all scores are submitted and confirmed, approximately one hour after the last game in a division is played, the USSSA tournament logic will determine seeding and will place each team into their appropriate bracket and bracket slot.
You can manually determine seeding by ordering teams across pools by winning percentage/record and then by Average Runs Allowed (lowest to highest) for teams with the same records and then by Average Run Differential (highest to lowest) for any remaining tied teams.
We will post an image of the full division seeding order to "Event Info" after the brackets are set.
